I am Cassandra Buchanan. I am a board certified Licensed Professional Counselor/Mental Health Service Provider in the state of Tennessee. My training includes a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University. My undergraduate training is from Lipscomb University. I have provided counseling services for over 10 years.
The following are a sampling of topics/issues that maybe covered in therapy:
*Highly Sensitive Person Trait Management Support
*Anxiety Management Support
I view the counseling relationship from a collaborative perspective. I believe that each person that I work with knows his/her life best because he/she lives it. As a therapist, I view my role as one in which I collaborate with the counselee on finding emotionally, psychologically healthy ways of navigating the world. Looking from the outside as a neutral observer I can help the counselee explore areas of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that impact his/her life both on an intrapersonal and interpersonal level. Aspects of my approach to counseling includes a strength–based approach where I help the counselee explore personal strengths and life experiences already available to him/her that can have a positive impact on a current problem and/or struggle. In addition, I take seriously the spiritual aspects of many therapeutic issues and its impact on the counselee’s identity. My own personal spiritual journey within the Christian faith influences my own identity as a therapist.
