He is the Owner & Director of The Counseling Center\, PLLC\, a professional pastoral counseling service with three locations in the middle Tennessee area. He is ordained and endorsed to the work of pastoral counseling by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. He is a Psychotherapist member of ACPE and is an approved trainer for their Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy Program. Chris is also a regular speaker\, preacher and writer. He has published numerous articles and Sunday School lessons\, and is the author of the book\, “Therapeutic Friendship: Cultivating Relationships That Heal”. Chris has been married to Lynda since 1987. They have two married daughters and one granddaughter born in January 2026.

LPC-MHSP \n1 CEU Credit will be offered.  Zoom only \nLearning Objectives: \n\nDifferentiate through evidenced based assessment between true suicidal ideation and intrusive suicidal thoughts characteristic of suicidal OCD (a subtype of harm-related OCD) and explore appropriate treatment protocols for each.\nUnderstand and explain the difference between ego-syntonic and ego-dystonic suicidal thoughts and how clinical language and treatment interventions affect treatment outcomes.\nRecognize and mitigate the differences between genuine suicide risk and OCD-related fear of suicide\, while understanding areas of clinical overlap and risk.\n\nEmily is a licensed professional counselor in Nashville\, TN (LPC-MHSP) and owner of Nashville Anxiety and Performance Counseling where she specializes in treating OCD\, anxiety related disorders and performance concerns from ages 6 and up. She has been extensively trained in DBT\, CBT\, ERP\, and ACT. This workshop is designed to invite creativity into our internal dialogues\, and not about creating a work of art.
